Sunshine: Does your ego get in the way?

Crystal: Welcome, For the Love of Business. I’m Crystal.

Sunshine: And I’m Sunshine. Let’s get to it.

So, ego.

Crystal: Yes.

Sunshine: It’s like, you’re cowriting a story with someone and instead of listening to what they have to say, you’re thinking over the whole thing.

Crystal: That’s an example of ego, yes.

Sunshine: How do you control something like that?

Crystal: Well, what’s the difference between self-importance in a good way and self-importance in a bad way? So, you have ego, and you have confidence.

Sunshine: Okay.

Crystal: What’s the difference between the two?

Sunshine: Confidence is because you actually believe it.

Crystal: Right.

Sunshine: So, does that mean when your ego takes over, you could be faking it?

Crystal: You could be faking it. Ego is about negative self-importance. They feel that they are better than the other people that they’re chatting with or working with.

Sunshine: Oh. I don’t want to run into any of these people.

Crystal: Again, can cause conflict, judgment, and fear. All negative things from the negative ego.

Sunshine: So, how do we make this positive?

Crystal: Yes. We’re definitely going to make it positive. Three ways to shelf your ego. Number one, don’t get offended. Number two, stop trying to be right all the time. And number three, get rid of that need to feel superior over other people.

Sunshine: Wow. If you’ve got an issue of any of this, on these three things of how to, that’s going to be tough for some.

Crystal: It is. It is challenging for sure.

Sunshine: I mean, just admitting this to yourself that this is actually going on, that’s hard.

Crystal: Yup, it’s an eye opener.

Sunshine: What’s your number one takeaway from today’s video? Leave us a comment. And thanks for watching.
