How to Deal With Upset/Angry Clients & Customers

Having a dissatisfied client is not an easy. In this video, learn a few simple ways to help with these types of situations.

Sunshine: Have you ever had a pissed off client before?

Crystal: Welcome to The Love of Business. I’m Crystal.

Sunshine: And I’m Sunshine. Let’s get to it.

Pissed off clients? Sounds like we’re going to need to use some kid gloves for this one?

Crystal: Definitely. There’s a right way to handle it and a bad way to handle it.

Sunshine: Well, I’m ready to learn about this. I mean, I don’t run into them very often. But when I do, my heart sinks.

Crystal: Why do you think some clients get upset?

Sunshine: Well, they don’t feel heard, or something didn’t work the way that maybe they thought it was supposed to work?

Crystal: Maybe their expectations weren’t met or maybe they had poor customer service experience?

Sunshine: Oh, they’re never going to have poor customer service experience with me.

Crystal: That’s right.

Sunshine: Well, maybe they just don’t like me. That could happen, I guess.

Crystal: Three easy ways to deal with an upset client. Number one, be silent and let them vent. So, they can get it out and they will feel heard. Number two, empathize with them. Say something like, “Yeah, I’m upset about this too.” And number three, fix the problem. Find a solution so that then they feel good about continually working with you.
